Dashcam Tape for Secure Windshield Mounting

Use automotive-grade, high-bond tape cut to the mount's footprint. Clean, dry glass and patient curing matter more than adding extra layers.

Dashcam tape should hold a small mount through vibration and cabin-temperature swings without obscuring the driver's view. Match the replacement pad to the mount and follow the camera maker's installation guidance; ordinary household foam tape is a poor substitute.

Common questions

Questions before you buy

What tape should I use for a dash cam?

Choose an automotive high-bond double-sided pad intended for glass and compatible with the mount material. The original manufacturer's replacement pad is the safest fit when available.

Why does my dash cam tape keep falling off?

Common causes include wax or cleaner residue, damp or cold glass, an undersized pad and loading the mount before the adhesive has bonded.

Can dash cam tape damage a windshield?

The adhesive normally bonds to the glass surface, but aggressive scraping can cause damage. Use the mount maker's removal method and avoid metal tools on glass treatments or antenna elements.

Can I reuse an adhesive dash cam mount?

Reuse the hardware only if it is undamaged. Replace the old pad completely rather than stacking fresh tape on aged adhesive.
