Helix WiFi Extender Options for Videotron Homes

A universal extender may connect to a compatible Helix gateway, but compatibility depends on its setup mode and security support. Check the exact extender instructions and expect it to be managed separately from Helix Fi pods.

They both help extend coverage, but pods are nodes in Videotron's managed Helix Fi system. A conventional extender repeats a router's signal and may create a separate network or offer different roaming behaviour.

Place it between the gateway and the weak-signal area, where it still receives a reliable connection. A repeater placed inside the dead zone has little usable signal to pass along.

It can improve the connection available in a weak-coverage area, but it cannot increase the speed delivered by your internet plan or fix a congested or faulty gateway. Walls, interference and placement affect real results.
