Electrostatic Stickers for Dash Cam Mounting

An electrostatic sticker creates a removable layer between the windshield and an adhesive dash-cam mount. It can simplify removal, but the camera's adhesive still attaches to the film.

An electrostatic sticker for dash cam mounting is a clear film placed on clean windshield glass before the adhesive bracket is attached. The electrostatic film dashcam method is intended to make later removal cleaner; the film itself does not magnetically or adhesively hold the camera without its proper mount.

Common questions

Questions before you buy

Should I use an electrostatic sticker for dashcam mounting?

Use one when the camera maker supplies or permits it and you want easier removal from smooth glass. Skip it if the manual requires the adhesive mount directly on the windshield.

Does the dash cam stick directly to electrostatic film?

The mount's adhesive pad sticks to the film; the film clings to the glass. Follow the supplied layer order rather than placing a camera body directly on the film.

Can an electrostatic sticker be reused?

Some films may be repositioned when clean and undamaged, but holding performance can decline. Replace a wrinkled, dusty or lifting film.

Will electrostatic film work on the black dotted windshield area?

That textured ceramic area may prevent full contact. Use smooth glass unless the camera maker explicitly approves another surface.
