Newair Evaporative Air Coolers and Portable Fans

Newair’s official product pages describe portable evaporative coolers with water tanks, fan settings and honeycomb media. Check model number, voltage and listed room coverage before comparing a US-market unit with your space.

A Newair evaporative air cooler is designed to move air across water-wetted media, so climate and ventilation affect whether it suits your room. Newair lists portable models such as the NEC500SI00 and NEC1K6WH00; compare their official specifications and manuals rather than relying on broad phrases such as “portable cooling fan.”

Common questions

Questions before you buy

What does the Newair NEC500SI00 include?

Newair identifies the NEC500SI00 as an evaporative cooler and lists three fan speeds, remote control, a timer and a removable water tank on its product page.

Is a Newair evaporative cooler the same as portable AC?

No. The listed Newair coolers use evaporation and airflow; a portable air conditioner uses a compressor and typically requires exhaust ventilation.

Can I use a Newair cooler in a humid climate?

Evaporative cooling adds moisture, so it is generally less suitable when the air is already humid. Consider the local humidity and the manufacturer’s instructions.

Where can I find instructions for a Newair cooler?

Use Newair’s Product Manuals page and search by the exact model code printed on the appliance.
