OEM Style Dash Cams for a Factory-Look Installation

An OEM-style camera hides more neatly around the mirror or factory trim than a conventional screen camera. Exact vehicle compatibility and future service access are the deciding factors.

An OEM style dash cam is designed to blend into the vehicle, often by replacing or adjoining trim near the rear-view mirror. It can look tidier and leave less equipment visible, but the close fit means you must match the camera to the exact make, model, model year, mirror housing, and driver-assistance hardware.

Common questions

Questions before you buy

What is an OEM style dash cam?

It is an aftermarket recorder shaped or mounted to resemble factory equipment, commonly around the mirror shroud. It is not necessarily made or approved by the vehicle manufacturer.

Will an OEM style dash cam fit every trim level?

No. Mirror housings, rain sensors, cameras, and driver-assistance packages can change the fit even within one model year.

Can an OEM style camera use parking mode?

Some can, but it depends on the power harness and camera design. A connector that powers the camera only with the ignition cannot support normal parked recording.

Is an integrated dash cam harder to replace?

It can be. Vehicle-specific trim, hidden connectors, and adhesive routing may require more disassembly than a standard windshield-mounted camera.
