Guide
Assemble the guard, handle and shaft in the order shown in the manual, with the battery removed until the tool is ready to use.

Lay out the trimmer, guard, handles, fasteners and accessories. Compare them with the parts list in the manual for your exact model; do not assemble a damaged or incomplete tool.
With the battery removed, place the guard in its specified position and secure it with the supplied fasteners. Make sure the line-cutting blade or deflector is oriented as shown in the instructions.
Install the front or auxiliary handle at the marked position and tighten its fastener as directed. Set the angle for a secure two-handed grip without obstructing the controls.
Align the shaft sections and coupler marks, insert the lower shaft fully and lock the coupling. Do not force a connection that will not seat smoothly; consult the manual for its locking method.
Check that the cutting head and line are installed correctly, all fasteners are secure and the guard is in place. Insert the battery only after assembly is complete and the switch is off.
Start in a clear area, hold both handles and keep the line parallel to the ground as instructed. Stop the tool and remove the battery before adjustments, cleaning or clearing entangled material.
