How to Activate the Dragon Head Torches in BG3

In Baldur's Gate 3, the dragon head torches are part of the Wyrmway's Chamber of Justice trial. Use lightning damage on the unlit torches to reveal the path forward.

The dragon head torch in BG3 is a puzzle element, not a real headlamp. In the Wyrmway beneath Wyrm's Rock Prison, the Chamber of Justice trial includes dragon-shaped torches that must be lit with lightning damage. Bring a spell or item that deals lightning damage, then target each torch; ordinary fire damage will not solve this mechanism.

Common questions

Questions before you buy

How do you activate the dragon head torch in BG3?

In the Chamber of Justice trial in the Wyrmway, hit the dragon head torches with lightning damage. Use a lightning spell or an item with that damage type, and target each torch.

Where is the dragon head torch puzzle in BG3?

It is in the Wyrmway, reached through Wyrm's Rock Prison, as part of the trials connected to the Wyrmway quest. The dragon torches appear in the Chamber of Justice.

Why will the dragon torch not light in BG3?

The torch requires lightning damage. Confirm the selected spell or item deals lightning damage and that the attack lands on the torch; a fire attack does not meet the puzzle condition.
