Mi WiFi Range Extender: What to Know About the Range Extender Pro

It is Xiaomi's wireless repeater for extending an existing Wi-Fi network. The official product page lists a 2×2 external antenna design and up to 300 Mbps transmission rate.

Xiaomi says to place it near the router during pairing, then use Mi Home and follow the in-app prompts if your router does not support MiNET. Once paired, move it to a location that still receives a strong router signal.

Xiaomi describes using it with an existing router, but the exact setup and compatibility should be checked against your router and the extender's regional version. Do not assume all features work with every configuration.

Xiaomi's FAQ says Mi Home can manage the extender when it is not paired with a Mi router. Follow the current instructions for your region and app version.

It can extend the coverage of an existing wireless network, but it does not increase the speed supplied by your internet plan. The connection between the router and extender, interference and placement affect the result.
