Choosing a 360 Degree Car Camera System

Decide whether you need a panoramic cabin view, four exterior cameras or a stitched parking display. All may be called 360-degree systems, but they solve different problems.

A 360 degree car camera system can mean three distinct things: one panoramic lens inside the cabin, several road-facing cameras around the vehicle, or an around-view parking system that stitches exterior images together. Identify the view you need before comparing specifications.

Common questions

Questions before you buy

Does a 360 degree car camera see every side of the vehicle?

Not always. Coverage depends on lens position and camera count, and physical parts of the car can block the view. Review sample footage from each channel.

Is a 360 dash cam the same as a surround-view parking camera?

No. A dash cam records evidence, while a surround-view parking system typically combines exterior cameras into a maneuvering display. Some installations offer elements of both.

Do 360 car cameras record while parked?

Only if the system supports parking recording and receives protected power when the vehicle is off. Check its supported modes and installation requirements.

Why do multi-camera systems use more storage?

They write several video streams at once. Resolution, bitrate, channel count and recording duration all affect how quickly loop recording replaces old files.
