Dashcam Navigation and GPS Features Explained

GPS in a dashcam usually records location and time; it does not provide turn-by-turn directions. If you want a dashcam with navigation, look for an explicit combined navigator-camera product or use separate devices.

Dashcam navigation can describe two very different features. A standard GPS-equipped camera logs where footage was recorded and may attach speed or time data. It generally cannot calculate a route. A dashcam with navigation combines video recording with a map display and spoken directions, often as part of a dedicated automotive navigator.
