Follow the model’s WPS or app/browser setup, connect it to the router network, then relocate it to a point with a usable source signal.

A wireless extender usually pairs over WiFi, though some models also support access-point mode through Ethernet.

It may be too far from the router or blocked by walls and interference. Try a position closer to the router.

Only if a stable signal reaches that location or a supported wired link supplies it. A repeater cannot extend a signal it cannot receive.
