Evaporative Air Cooler Cover: How to Choose One

Measure the cooler, account for protrusions and cover it only when clean, dry and switched off.

An evaporative air cooler cover helps protect a stored appliance from dust when it is clean, dry and switched off. Measure the unit first and check whether the manufacturer sells a model-specific cover; vents and controls must not be obstructed during operation. Installed rooftop equipment needs its own service guidance, not a portable cover.

Common questions

Questions before you buy

Can I leave an evaporative cooler cover on while it is running?

No. Remove any cover before operation so air inlets, outlets and controls remain unobstructed.

How do I choose the right cooler cover size?

Measure height, width and depth, including handles or other protrusions, and compare those dimensions with the cover listing.

Should a cooler be dry before storage?

Follow the model manual’s cleaning and drying instructions before covering or storing the unit.

Can I use a cover on a ducted evaporative cooler?

Use only accessories intended for that system. A portable appliance cover does not suit an installed rooftop cooler or its outlets.
