Mirror Dash Cams with Integrated Displays

A mirror dash cam clips over or replaces the interior mirror and uses a wide display for the camera feed. It can combine recording and a rear view neatly, but glare, fit and loss of a normal optical reflection deserve careful attention.

A mirror dash cam combines a recording camera with a screen spanning much of the interior mirror. Most universal models strap over the existing mirror and pair with a rear camera. That makes the rear image larger than a small dash-cam display and can help when luggage or bodywork limits the normal view.

Common questions

Questions before you buy

What is a mirror dash cam?

It is a dash camera built into a wide display that fits over, or replaces, the interior rear-view mirror. Many packages include a separate rear camera.

Can a mirror dash cam replace the normal mirror?

Some vehicle-specific systems do, while universal products usually clip over it. Confirm legal visibility, secure fit and whether a usable optical reflection remains when the display is off.

Do mirror dash cams work at night?

They can, but rear-camera sensor quality, exposure, tinted glass and headlight glare affect the image. Look for actual night samples from the exact model rather than relying on a generic claim.

Will a mirror camera work as a reversing camera?

Only if the system supports reverse-trigger input and is wired correctly. Recording the rear view alone does not guarantee automatic parking guidelines or a reverse display.
