Cooking Thermometer Alarms for Ovens, BBQs and Frying

A cooking thermometer alarm watches temperature continuously and alerts you at a target. Choose one channel for a roast, or multiple channels and high-low limits for smoking.

A cooking thermometer alarm removes repeated oven-door checks: the food thermometer with alarm sounds when its leave-in probe reaches a set temperature. The simplest models have one food channel; smoker-oriented units add an air probe, low alarms and remote monitoring.

Common questions

Questions before you buy

What is a cooking thermometer alarm?

It is a thermometer that continuously reads a leave-in probe and alerts you when a selected threshold is reached. Some also warn when smoker temperature falls too low.

Does ThermoWorks ChefAlarm work in an oven?

Its compatible leave-in probe and cable go into the oven while the display remains outside. Follow the specified probe and cable limits and do not use it under a broiler.

Is a high and low alarm useful?

Yes for smoking, frying or any process where temperature must stay within a band. A high-only alarm is usually enough for a conventional roast.

Will an alarm thermometer replace instant-read checks?

Not completely. A leave-in probe tracks one location; an instant-read thermometer helps confirm other cold spots before serving.
