Car Camera Security with 360-Degree Coverage

No single label guarantees a complete view around a parked car. Check the number and direction of lenses, stitched-view limits and whether recording continues when the ignition is off.

Car camera security 360 is a useful search term but an imprecise product promise. Some systems use front, rear and cabin lenses; others use a rotating or ultra-wide lens; factory surround-view cameras may only assist manoeuvring and may not record. Judge coverage from actual camera directions rather than the badge on the box.

Common questions

Questions before you buy

Does a 360 dash cam record every side of the car?

Not necessarily. Front, rear and cabin lenses can still leave exterior blind spots, especially beside doors and pillars. Review sample viewpoints and the lens layout.

Will a 360 car camera record while parked?

Only if the model supports parking mode and has a suitable power supply. Confirm low-voltage protection and the recording trigger before installation.

Is a factory surround-view camera a security camera?

Usually it is designed to help with low-speed manoeuvring. Do not assume it records or stores footage unless the vehicle documentation explicitly says so.

How much storage does multi-camera recording need?

More channels and higher bitrates consume card space faster. Use the manufacturer's supported card type and capacity, then check the published recording-time table where available.
