Car Camera Alarm Systems and Parking Alerts

A parking camera can record or notify, but it does not replace an approved vehicle alarm. Define whether you need local evidence, a phone alert or both.

A car camera alarm system may describe several different products: a dash cam that saves impact footage, a connected camera that sends an alert, or an alarm with camera integration. Check which event triggers recording and whether the notification works only near the car or through a mobile connection.

Common questions

Questions before you buy

Can a dash cam set off an alarm?

Some integrated systems can trigger or accompany alerts, but ordinary dash cams usually only detect an impact and save footage. Confirm the exact integration stated by the manufacturer.

Can a car camera alert my phone?

Connected models may send alerts when they have power and a data connection. Local Wi-Fi alone normally works only when you are close to the vehicle.

Will parking mode drain the car battery?

Any always-on system uses energy. Use the manufacturer's compatible power accessory and low-voltage protection, and consider professional installation.

Does a camera alarm lower car insurance?

Do not assume it will. Ask the insurer which security devices it recognises and whether installation evidence is required.
