Water Air Coolers: What the Water Tank Actually Does

A water air cooler uses evaporation in the airflow when that mode is enabled. The tank supports that process; it is not a refrigerant circuit or a promise of a set room temperature.

When comparing a water air cooler, understand the tank's role before treating capacity as a performance score. In an evaporative design, water wets cooling media through which air moves. The process adds moisture, making room conditions important to the result.

Why does a water air cooler add humidity?

Evaporation introduces water vapour into the moving air. Honeywell therefore advises appropriate fresh-air exchange.

Can I put essential oils in the tank?

Use only additions explicitly permitted by the actual manufacturer's instructions. Do not assume a cooler is an aroma diffuser.

Does six litres mean a fixed number of operating hours?

Not by itself. Water use varies with operating conditions and settings unless the manufacturer provides a supported duration.

Can I leave water in the unit during storage?
